The following guidelines and application are for the vending of non-food merchandise at the 1999 Seattle Hempfest. As the Seattle Hempfest is first and foremost a political event, priority will be given to items utilizing the hemp plant, with other items accepted on a limited/space available basis.

New for '99

Advertise in our '99 HempFest Program
Our HempFest '99 Programs will feature a map and listing of Vendor booth names/locations as well as band line-ups and other valuable HempFest'99 information. Please select appropriate box on application, if you're interested in advertising and/or offering a discount coupon to festival patrons.
HempFest '99 Volunteer Staff Recognition Program
It takes the help of many talented, dedicated Volunteers to make our HempFest a success. Our newly formed Human Resources team will be collecting information from our Volunteer Staff about other Volunteer Staff members who have exhibited extraordinary efforts as every day s/heroes. Good deeds are always worth recognizing and rewarding. Please select appropriate box on application, if you are interested in donating goods, services or money to be awarded to outstanding Volunteer Staff at our post-HempFest Celebration.

Vendors, if you have any questions or want more information, please contact us at hempfest@hemp.net or feel free to write to us at our address (see application, following).

The Process

Please read and agree to abide by the basic rules that follow. Complete the application including business license details, sign the Agreement (either On-line or Printable) form indicating you have read and agree to follow the basic guidelines, enclose necessary funds and send to us. A postcard acknowledging our receipt of your application will be sent to you. We will send the final load in packet, beginning July 15, 1999, with booth location details and necessary passes.

If you will be on the road in July, please indicate alternate means for us to contact you.

The Details

  • A standard 10 x 10 space is $190. Deadline: August 15th.
  • As the HempFest takes place in a city park, the city of Seattle requires a fee of 10% of gross sales to be collected by the HempFest at the close of the event.
  • These funds are not part of your booth fee and do not go to the HempFest.
  • You must have a copy of your Seattle Business License or purchase a "One Day Event License". A "One Day Event License can be purchased through HempFest. Please include fee with your Application. Your Application cannot be processed without this requirement.
  • The application deadline is August 15, 1999. All fees are due with this application. A new Washington State law prohibits the sale of products for drug consumption. We regret having to inform Seattle HempFest 1999 Vendors that HempFest is forbidden by law to accept vendors who plan to sell drug paraphernalia. Please feel free to contact us for more details.
  • If you must cancel, you will receive a full refund if you cancel by August 1, 1999. No refunds past that date.
  • The event will begin at 10am and we ask that vendors be open from that time through 6pm. Load-in will take place on Saturday Afternoon/Evening (8/21/99) and Sunday morning (8/22/99), before 9am.
  • ALL vehicles must be off the site by 9am on day of event.
  • The Seattle HempFest reserves the right to refuse any application and to withdraw acceptance of any application under which circumstances vendor's booth fees will be refunded in full. The Seattle HempFest reserves the right to restrict or prohibit any activities determined by the HempFest Staff to interfere with public access and/or event programming, or which will reflect poorly on the overall event.
