As adults in a free society we demand the right to make our own educated and informed choices on what we use as medicine, in industry and for recreation. Our current national policies rob us of our historic cultural heritage regarding the Cannabis plant and its extensive list of positive uses. Under current laws, decent and productive citizens are being criminalized and incarcerated for posing no threat to society. We seek to replace this assault on freedom with an all out war on addiction and abuse. We will work relentlessly to win the opportunity to enjoy the economic, industrial and spiritual uses of the Hemp/Marijuana plant, a plant that has not killed a single person in thousands of years. As our website evolves and grows, you will be offered more opportunities to learn about Seattle Hempfest, Hemp.Net, activism, and the global movement to end prohibition, as we mend our gentle culture of peaceful advocates for social justice, reasonable and enforceable laws, and freedom from the monetary interests of corporate exploitation. Visit us often and tell your friends, family and neighbors that there's a change in the air... the sweet smell of hemp for victory. This website is dedicated to our brothers and sisters who are incarcerated for the possession, use, cultivation and sale of the cannabis plant, and to all the medical patients who are suffering needlessly by being denied access to the relief they deserve. Special notice must be made to the countless dedicated volunteers who make it possible for Seattle Hempfest to bring you internationally recognized speakers, world class musical support, and a message of hope and unity in a world that desperately needs redemption in the form of peace, love and understanding. Visit Turmoil's Seattle Hempfest page for some cool pictures of years past. Bring A Pound To Hempfest! This year we will break the record for a one day collection of non-perishable goods with our "Hemp For The Hungry" Food Drive! Spread The Word, feed the people! How do I get to Seattle Hempfest? Carpool or take the bus! Visit Metro Online or call 206-553-3000 for bus, carpool, bike and other transportation options. Seattle Hempfest will take place at Myrtle Edwards Park on the Seattle waterfront, just north of Pier 70. From downtown, walk to the waterfront and go north. The Pier numbers will get higher and higher until BAM! you hit Pier 70. For those car-riding folks, take I-5 exit 167, drive down Denny Way toward the waterfront, cross Broad (you can't turn left there), and turn left on 3rd, then right on Broad and you'll hit the entrance to Myrtle Edwards. Still confused? Try Yahoo! Maps for detailed directions from your own hemp yurt. Street parking is free on Sunday, but be warned, parking is gonna be hard to find. DO NOT BUY OR SELL MARIJUANA OR OTHER ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES AT HEMPFEST! The Seattle Police Department will have undercover police doing buy-busts and enforcing local, state and federal laws. Seattle parks are designated "Drug Free Zones," making drug penalties much higher. Do not buy or sell drugs at Seattle Hempfest. No alcohol, narcotics, glass containers, fireworks, camping or unauthorized vending will be allowed at Hempfest. Things to remember. Bring plenty of sunscreen and change for the bus. Lost and found will be at the info booth, right by first aid at the center of the park. Sponsors
